Are you worried about the robustness of investment recommendations coming from your in-house team? Perhaps the team lacks knowledge in specific technical disciplines or is relatively inexperienced? If so, Merlin’s experienced staff can help by delivering Peer Assists or Peer Reviews. These can be delivered as ‘one-offs’, or as part of a regular engagement.
PEER ASSIST
By assessing the existing experience of your team, support can be tailored to meet the requirements of the project, thereby maximising efficiencies of time and budget. This provides a more tailored solution than a traditional training course.
Delivered by an individual, or team of experienced Merlin professionals, Merlin can coach your team members on workflows or specific technical skills. Ideally, this is carried out at the desk, in the client’s office. If needed, we can deliver this remotely.
PEER REVIEW
Peer review can help teams improve project deliverables by providing a third-party viewpoint on workflows and interpretations to ensure nothing has been missed. Merlin has worked with a number of clients to provide this service, supporting data acquisition, asset evaluations, well proposals and geochemical evaluation.
Peer review sessions can be carried out in-house using an informal 1:1 approach with project staff. Alternatively, a more formal independent approach can be taken, reporting to Executive Management ahead of key investment decisions. In either case, Merlin will provide a summary report to close out the project with any ‘red flags’ identified, and improvement recommendations put forward for consideration.
