Monday 1st May marks 25 years since Merlin Energy Resources started supporting their global clients with subsurface projects.
Merlin was set up in 1998 by six former Clyde Petroleum colleagues and two of them, Andy Sims and Fiona Lawrance, are still part of the team! Since then staff numbers have grown, and so has Merlin, adding in two additional divisions; Merlin Datawise in 1999 and Merlin Geochem in 2020. In 2016 Merlin recognised the importance of its staff and transitioned to full Employee Ownership, giving staff more say in shaping the future of the company. There are of course a few things that haven’t changed, including the collective pride we share in our company and its values, our commitment to providing excellent quality projects for our clients and, of course, our keen passion for geoscience and data management.
Everyone at Merlin is looking forward to the future with excitement. The changing future of energy promises to hold plenty of new challenges and the Merlin team is ready to play its part. Here’s to the next 25 years!
