In late June, our Principal Geologist Phil Copestake was lucky enough to join the post IAS (International Association of Sedimentologists) 2024 conference field trip to the isles of Skye and Raasay. The main emphasis of the trip was on the depositional environments of the Lower and Middle Jurassic succession, but also the relevance in the wider context of correlation to the North Sea and Mid Norway. Continue reading to learn more about the fascinating geology of the Scottish highlands and see some beautiful pictures of the landscape and, of course, the rocks.
Merlin were pleased to attend the Asia Pacific Conference organised by the Geoscience Energy Society of Great Britain (GESGB) and South East Asia Petroleum Exploration Society (SEAPEX). Read Ben and Eleanor's thoughts about the conference in our latest blog post.
