Merlin has been supporting its Norwegian clients for more than a decade. We are currently carrying out a stratigraphic evaluation and have recently completed a top seal study in the Norwegian North Sea to analyse a dry hole. This latter work considered trap timing, trap geometry, fault seal potential, mechanical top-seal analysis and capillary seal analysis as failure risks. Wider pressure studies utilising our bespoke probabilistic mechanical top-seal evaluation software have also been put to good use helping to better understand top seal risk for undrilled structures.
