Mental Health Awareness Week

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. Here at Merlin we take the time to ensure mental wellbeing is actively discussed in the workplace to reduce stigma and promote openness on the topic. Our Mental Health First Aider, Fiona Lawrance, has been sharing tips for improving employee wellbeing this week, along with reminding staff how to spot the signs that someone is experiencing poor mental health.

The theme of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 is ‘“Movement: Moving more for our mental health.” One of the top tips for improving mental wellbeing is keeping physically active, as just 10 minutes a day will benefit both physical and mental health. It can be hard to find time to fit exercise into your working week, so you may need to be inventive: Take the stairs rather than the lift, have your 1 to 1 manager meeting while you walk, march on the spot while waiting for the kettle to boil or do some seated chair exercises.  Do you have any tips for creating #MomentsforMovement?
